Brief bio from Father David:

"My wife and I were both born in Sacramento.  I attended American River College and Sacramento State University.  My wife and I met and married at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.  During seminary, I went to Panama, and through that experience, adopted a son.  I have been ordained twenty years and recently returned to Sacramento.  Fifteen years of my ministry was in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  For the past two years, I have been a chaplain for Sutter Hospital particularly working with end-of-lifecare.  Currently, I am working on a Masters in Psychology that will hopefully lead to becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist.  My loves are relaxing travel experiences, keeping in shape and eating good food."

"Opening Hearts and Minds to All"

St. Mary's is a member of the Episcopal Church of America and is a parish congregation of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California, consisting of over 70 churches.

The word Episcopal means "pertaining to Bishops". We are part of a world wide association, or communion, known as the "Anglican Communion". Together we join with our brothers and sisters all over the world in worshiping Jesus Christ in common prayer.

Our Core Values:

CommitmentWe are committed to God in Jesus Christ, to one another, and to Jesus' mission to the world.

Care—We enjoy and care for one another at St. Mary's.

CompassionWe reach out in God's compassion to the world around us, including people from all backgrounds and cultures.

Celebration—We rejoice in God's love through worship, fellowship, and special events. Our Purpose:

Our Purpose:

The purpose of St. Mary's Episcopal Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.

Worship Services

Every Sunday is a celebration at St. Mary's! We are glad to be in God's presence and with one another. We have three worship services each Sunday, each with it's own style:

7:30 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite I
This is a quiet, traditional service without music. This is a meditative, beautiful service in the early morning.

10:00 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II
This is a very upbeat service with a blend of traditional and contemporary music. Childcare is available during this service, and there is a children's chapel service for elementary aged children during the first part of the liturgy.

Fellowship time follows each of the worship services.

Sunday School for all ages takes place at 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, except during the summer.

St. Mary's has installed a “loop” system around the perimeter of the Sanctuary, allowing those having hearing aids equipped with telephone coils or “T-coils”, to turn their settings to the T-coil switch to hear the entire service from beginning to end without interruption.

Evening Prayer Services

We have meditative Evening Prayer services at the church building on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m

SATURDAY EVENING (and Beyond) “COMMUNITY” SERVICE

6:00 p.m. - CommUnity

This is an exciting Non-Eucharistic Saturday Evening service that uses contemporary prayers, music, videos, and skits to provide an additional sensory experience which brings the message of Jesus Christ into our present day lives.
