Our classroom building.

The purpose of the Buildings and Grounds committee is for the maintenance, upkeep, and beautification of the buildings and the land surrounding the buildings. The committee also investigates new opportunities to keep St. Mary’s visible and known to the community around it.
St. Mary's is located on 5 acres on the north side of Calvine Road. We have room to expand and grow and have ambitious plans for the future. We have in the past year removed an old house from the front of the property, removed some diseased trees, filled in an old pond, and graded the area west of the present church building in preparation for our future building plans. New parking areas to hold more vehicles, a bell tower to communicate with our neighbors, and eventually a new main church building are all in our vision.
Presently, we work monthly to continue beautifying our buildings and grounds. We have plans over the next few months to create a flower garden around our sign at the front of the property. It will be exciting to watch the changes as we go through the rest of this year and next year.
We are always looking for new members to bring new ideas and new hands to do this work. Our meetings, generally, are the first Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the church and our monthly “spruce up work party” is the first Saturday of each month. We also plan twice yearly an “all parish work day” in the spring and the fall. Interested? Contact: Deborah Hess, chairperson.
