The Front Entryway
Buildings and Grounds
The purpose of the Buildings and Grounds committee is for the maintenance, upkeep, and beautification of the buildings and the land surrounding the buildings. The committee also investigates new opportunities to keep St. Mary’s visible and known to the community around it.
St. Mary's is located on 5 acres on the north side of Calvine Road. We have room to expand and grow and have ambitious plans for the future. We have in the past year removed an old house from the front of the property, removed some diseased trees, filled in an old pond, and graded the area west of the present church building in preparation for our future building plans. In the summer of 2009, we received our site use permit from Sacramento County for our long-range building plans.
Presently, we work monthly to continue beautifying our buildings and grounds. We are always looking for new members to bring new ideas and new hands to do this work. Our monthly “spruce up work party” is the first Saturday of each month. We also plan twice yearly an “all parish work day” in the spring and the fall. Interested? Contact: Deborah Hess, chairperson.
